In Memory
Heysel May 29, 1985
Going to the match, the excitement, the buzz, live theatre at it's very best. Never would you expect to die there. Well, as we all know, tragedy has hit Liverpool games twice. At the Heysel stadium on 29th May 1985, 39 people lost their lives. Liverpool fans will always be ashamed of the part played by some of our number on that dreadful night. For the following people it was their last match and we should always remember they were fans, just like us.

The suffering endured by Italian families since Heysel has been brought home by our personal tragedy at Hillsborough. You can support our bereaved families by visiting www.contrast.org/hillsborough
Memorial
On both these appalling occasions fans were held to blame. Perhaps
justifiably so at Heysel, but not at Hillsborough. The authorities
involved at both stadiums should be ashamed of their part.
The police
at Hillsborough are a disgrace to this day as they still hide the
truth. The lying rag "the sun" will never be forgiven.
Lessons have
been learned, dilapidated stadiums like Heysel are no longer used and
the killer fences are down. Let's not forget the 135 people who brought
this about.
